Last week Sara and I had the opportunity to spend the weekend with one of our families out in Oshoek (pictured below). It was a privilege to be there with my wife. Gogo (Grandma) cares for 9 vulnerable and orphaned children in her house made of mud and sticks. She struggles with her health but she’s full of love, joy and, above all, grace. It is amazing to see Christ in her. Despite not having food to feed herself or the kids, she showed hospitality to us.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Happy New Year! Is it too late to say that? As Xolani and I think about this year, we are filled with excitement and some nervousness. Last year held highs and lows for us regarding the places and individuals we serve. None of us knows what 2019 holds, but our Father knows. And he has promised to strengthen us, help us, and to uphold us. We trust him. We miss you and are praying for you.
