When we pause to look back at our lives as individuals, the thing that stands out for each of us is God’s amazing grace to us. There is nothing we did to merit what He has done in our lives. Yet He found us where we were, tenderly called us to come to Him, and then worked in our hearts to transform us. We are privileged to be in the service of the King of kings.
Sara started serving with Hands at Work in 2011. Between 2011 and 2017, she spent most of her time serving in the Ridgewood Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn, NY, and with Hands at Work (US office), with annual trips to South Africa.
Xolani started serving with Hands at Work in 2015. He was visiting his family in Somerset when he was introduced to a group of people caring for orphaned children. The Holy Spirit didn’t let him ignore what he saw and heard. He left his job in Pretoria to join the work in Somerset which Hands At Work was involved in. After a few months, he began to serve in Swaziland and in the Oshoek region of South Africa.
We met in Oshoek in 2016 and got to know each other well when we spent time in the community of Bhandeni in Swaziland. As different as our origins are, we found that we had a shared love for Christ and commitment to those who are hurting. We know that the same grace that God had for us needs to be extended to the orphans, widows, and dying. Today we are happily married serving with Hands at Work, living out our calling in White River, South Africa.
